I should preface this by saying neither feel the same way about me, and both have told me as much.
Anyone deal with this in the past? How did you find a resolution? How did you get over one or both of the people. It's especially hard because they're both friends I've known for a good amount of time. Yes, they both know of each other's existence and that I genuinely care very much for both of them.
I love two women and one man - but I think that a bisexual family relationship of different ages is very "different". In particular, I do not compete for a man's woman and for this man and this woman whom I love. For me they are Family. Although I love them separately.
I have a friend, best friend. SHe and I we are like fire and ice, chemistry when we combine is just natural and reactive. However she has zero feelings for me. I do love her and I know she does love me.
Females are weird. My resolution is to just stand by and love her as much as it is appropriate.
PotatomanK your in a bind. Just know your not alone and I do applaud you for letting them know your feelings. Despite the rejection, and yeah it hurts, it takes real bravery to do so.
Oh and just to let people know, don't be concerned I am not going to drive myself crazy trying to figure out how the Female mind works.
I have been in the situation of loving someone that did not love me back. This person was a very good friend at the time. When I let her know my feelings, she let me know that she did not feel the same but viewed me more like a sibling. It was hard to deal with. It was not something that just resolved itself. I am Gen X and did what I was taught and buried those feelings. I knew where she stood and I was not going to push the issue. I will say that I did not feel like she lead me on. I didn't see her for a couple of weeks, but then we went back to things as normal.
To give you an idea, normal for us was hanging out once a week and catching a movie, going to eat etc. To the average person looking on it would have appeared that we were dating. We would go dutch for food and then alternate at the theater. One person bought tickets the other would by snacks and then we would flip. Sometimes we would just hang out and talk all night about whatever came up. We still talk today, but we are not as close as we were back then, our lives just took us in different directions. However, when we do talk it is like no time has passed and we pick right back up with the same inside jokes and everything.
